Privacy Policy

How Life With Data collects and uses data for use-mark.com, the waitlist, and the Mark service.

Who we are

Mark is made by Life With Data ("we", "us"). This policy covers:

  • the marketing site at use-mark.com, including the blog and the waitlist
  • the Mark service at app.use-mark.com

Questions or requests go to anthony@use-mark.com. We answer within 30 days.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

You give us your email address. We use it to confirm that you asked to join, then to tell you about Mark: when your spot opens, and occasional product news. We send nothing beyond the confirmation email until you click the link in it.

To stop abuse, the waitlist form also checks your IP address against a rate limit. We keep that check for one hour.

When you browse use-mark.com

What we collect depends on your cookie choice. Until you choose, and after you decline, we do the following:

  • Google Consent Mode tells Google's tags that you have not consented. They set no cookies and send only cookieless signals that Google uses for modeled reporting.
  • PostHog, our product analytics, runs in cookieless mode. It counts page views without storing anything on your device and without recognizing you on a later visit.

If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and PostHog may set cookies so they can recognize repeat visits and tell us which ads and links brought people to the site.

Some things run whatever you choose, because the site needs them or because they store nothing on your device:

  • Cookiebot stores your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Vercel, our host, keeps server logs and runs Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.
  • Sentry records errors so we can fix them. For a sample of visits, and for visits where a page fails, Sentry keeps a session replay with all text and form input masked.

When you use the Mark service

When you create an account we collect the email address and profile details you give our authentication provider, and the organization you create.

When you use Mark we store the business information, contacts, content, campaigns, files, and connected-account data you put in the product, so we can provide the service.

If you connect a third-party tool, we store the credentials needed for that connection and exchange the data the connection requires.

If you pay for Mark, our payment processor handles card details. We see billing email, plan, and payment status — not full card numbers.

Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page on use-mark.com. You can withdraw consent there as easily as you gave it, and the change applies from that moment.

Some of these providers are in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • Confirmed waitlist email: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or Mark launches and you have had your invitation, whichever comes first.
  • Unconfirmed waitlist email: the confirmation link expires after 7 days. We delete the signup after 30 days if you have not confirmed.
  • Mark account and workspace data: for as long as the account is open. After you close it we delete or anonymize what we control, except records we must keep (for example invoices).
  • Your cookie choice: stored by Cookiebot so we do not ask on every page. Change it anytime under Cookie settings.
  • Analytics data: kept by Google and PostHog according to those products' settings. We delete the waitlist and account data we control when you ask.
  • Rate limit records: one hour.

Who is responsible

For the marketing site and the waitlist, Life With Data is the controller.

For the contacts, content, and other data you put into Mark about your own customers, you are the controller and we process that data to provide the service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop or restrict using it, including for marketing;
  • move it to another service.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. For anything else, write to anthony@use-mark.com from the address in question. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address before we act on it.

If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to your data protection authority. We would rather hear from you first.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the Google Ads measurement described above, which only runs with your consent.

Children

The site and the service are not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When we change this policy, we update it here and change the date below. If the change matters to how we use your waitlist email or your Mark account, we will email you first.
